It's official...I have an "attack" rooster...

It's spring and many roosters, particularly young ones, can get a little crazy about now.

As Redhead suggests you can check out the various "taming roosters" threads to see if there are any you want to try.

Personally though I don't put up with aggressive roosters. I'll give them one go round with the broom to dissuade them from attacking me. After that, especially if they've been aggressive with my kids, they are history.

We thought we had explained to our roo Do Not Attack the Humans, well he stuck up on me this weekend and pounced however my Dobe was right there and she pounced back: No harm to roo but he now respects All just a little more.Having a 90lb dog holding you to the ground can alter ones view!

I'm glad to see this thread. I've got a beautiful roo that's gotten a bit salty over the past few weeks. I don't want to get rid of him yet, but with the warmer weather coming the kids will be outside a lot more and I don't want to have to worry after them. Mine's not quite pick up-able, is he too far gone to try to tame?

There is a big difference between taming a rooster and making him respect you. Frequently taming a rooster is what helps cause aggressive behavior because all boundaries are removed.

I COMPLETLEY agree. They get once chance to mess up, if they do it again they're gone.
I've been through a lot of roos, and right now have 3 that are completley gentle and wouldn't hurt a thing. They are wonderful!​
