I love Blue Runners! I got a pair of them last year (straight run) and one died. The one we still have turned out to be male. lol. He leads the whole flock!

I think Runners are pretty noisy, but then again, I don't think I've ever met a quite duck. lol

So, the place i take my dog for training to... the woman who works there actually tried to hatch out some blue runners, and only one hatched..so she's giving him to me

He's two weeks old, i think she said his name is Pete pete, how cute

She sounded pretty certain that it was male, so will i need to get another female for him so there's an equal amount?

Oh, and we're going with Zeus and Hera for the names. i know, original!

I am just a novice but I've heard from the SS forum that ducks like to be more like four females to one drake.

Yes it sounds like you should get another female or two. With two boys and one female she will be over bred and she will get stressed out, not fun for her. Your supposed to have 1 boy to 3 ducks.
