It's Official

Of course, you can go down the rabits hole with brands and ingredients. But you have 'Layers' meaning they will be laying eggs. So it is specifically formulated to help hens....

For example: if the calcium is not adequate, the body will steal calcium from the bones (obviously not good). And the eggs will have weak shells- this can lead to egg binding and death.

Not enough protein, minerals or vitamins has similar effects.

I did a quick search on youtube- not sure if this video is any good, but hopefully it will help:

Can you please give me some details on what balanced and processed feed looks like 🤔🐓🐔crumbles and pellets
Asked and answered in your Feed thread.

Both of my 2 white leghorns have this floppy flopped over comb. I that normal or what 🤔🐔 One of them has
Leghorns have large single combs that often flop over. It is normal.
I already have seen one of the leghorns poop is red colored and it's backside is not looking good.
I meant to provide pictures of the this hen's backside/vent. Not a picture of her walking around in the pen. Red poop is not normal nor is a "not looking good" backside.

So what do I do with the scratch that I purchased 75lb @$30. How much is crumbles and pellets going to be 🤔🐓🐔 My costs are going up, up,up😕and I'm only 2days all in. 👀🙃😕
Feed it as a treat, just in handfuls. Every other day or less.
If you don't feed them proper feed they will eventually get sick and die.

This is what I do, I keep a feeder with their feed. That’s their main diet. Then in the evening I’ll spread out the scratch on the ground, just a handful or two. They’ll go through quickly, it won’t go to waste. Another thing I do, I make up fermented feed. Just mix their feed with water and you can add a little scratch to that. The scratch you have isn’t going to hurt your chickens, you just don’t want them full of scratch, you want them full of feed. And they can pick around the scratch just for fun really.
