I am sorry for the loss. My wife and I lost our two Silkie chicks on the same day, and we both cried. We buried them at the base of our apple tree. We figured that was a fitting headstone for the little ones.
I guess the bottom line is that no living thing is promised any amount of time in this life, and the best that we can do is make sure the time we get is well spent. It sounds to me like your little chick was well loved and cared for in its short time here and there is great value in that. So sorry for your loss.

I'm sorry for your loss. I had my favorite OEGB pullet (3 months old) die in my arms last night. I watched her hatch, live for 3 months and die. She looked at me, took a breath and passed. It doesn't get easier, ever.
I'm so sorry he didn't make it. I know you and your mom tried everything you could think of to help him. I was hoping the little guy would make it. You have had enough heart break.
