It's RAINING in Concord NC!!!

Then you didn't see me at the airport yesterday. After a week of North Carolina heat and humidity, I stood out in the 65 degree rainsoaked afternoon, revelling in it.

65' and rain??? You are one lucky lady. We had a bit of rain and it did break the heat wave but the humidity is sure way up there now. You can cut it with a knife!!

It rained here for a minute Sunday night. They said on the news tonight that we are 19 inches below normal for the year. I have 60 year old trees in the yard that are dying!!

We have had rain for three days now. Not a nice, slow rain, but a soak your butt to the skin within 30 seconds of being out in it.

We've been a bit behind on the rain, but this is crazy! My poor run and coop area is a sodden mudbog. It did stop long enough this evening for me to get my muckshoes on and a hoodie and get to the coop and run to get the girls put in, then it proceeded to dump rain and I was soaked to the skin by the time I got back to the house.

*sigh* It's been a crappy couple days around here and this rain does nothing to lift my spirits.

Having lived most of my life in Oregon (Portland/Forest Grove) it does rain, a lot. But hey... that's what makes things green.

I spent about 4 years in the Charlotte/Salisbury NC area and got so tired of drying out my sports car (convertible). I could never get used to the fact that first it rained, then it thundered to let you know the top was down.

Now I'm living in the SW Utah Escalante Desert Valley, where we get thunder and lightening... and maybe a few raindrops. Most of our moisture comes in the form of snow in the winter.

When it does rain, I sit under the eaves and just enjoy it.

It rained here too... got one heck of a storm... trees down... pour outages... 60 mph winds... tree limbs flying everywhere!!! All the babies went running for cover... it was actually kindof funny watching them (although, I was worried about them) run under trees, then to the cars, then under the house, back under the cars... I kept yelling at them to get in the coop... but you know how that goes... they just dont seem to listen... oh well they all made it and I am excited about that... Well its good that those of us who needed the rain got it... and for those who got flooded and didnt need anymore... Im sorry... hope your home and babies all made it along with your family!!!
