Waiting for eggs to hatch once they have started rocking around piping is so hard! Why does it have to take so long! I have four pips so far and we are going out for a Mother's Day brunch in a couple hours. Won't it figure if they hatch while I'm gone, lol. I'd almost rather stay home and have a quiet Mother's Day just watching my eggs.

You sound like a typical chicken mama!!

LOL If all is well in your incubator and everything is running smoothly, relax, go to your Mother's Day brunch, and I'll bet you just might have a new fuzzy-butt when you get home!! Good luck!!

I know everything will be fine, I just want it to be fine on my timetable, lol! I don't want to come back to a fully hatched chick! I want to be here to see it! I've seen it numerous times before but I always want to watch. Same thing with my goats and sheep. I almost feel cheated when I come home to find babies all dried off and walking around, lol.

Well, one did hatch while I was gone but I've gotten to see two more hatch and there are six left to go. Three have pipped but the other three are still whole and nothing happening yet. At least I have three out so far!

We've got four so far. Our rooster is a speckled Sussex and so far we have one chick that looks like pure speckled Sussex, two more that came from EE eggs, and the last one is either from a barred rock or a silver laced Wyandotte hen.
