Mine are finally out and about on the snowfree areas of our yard. One would think chickens raised in Norway wouldnt mind a little snow, but my buff orpingtons refuse to put their royal feel on that cold white stuff. So their are of range has slowly gotten bigger as the sun has meltet away the snow, and today it was larger than ever! Safely to say we're all longing for a warmer season after a long cold winter...

I also have my first broody hen, a silkie, lying on 5 eggs. Started brooding about 6 days ago so a little over two weeks to go and we'll hopefully have some baby orpingtons (the eggs all come from the buff orpingtons).
How are things in your chicken coop now that spring is settling? Broody hens and rising egg production already?
