It's stuck!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I occasionally end up humming endless bars of...
Oh My Darlin, Oh My Darlin'
Oh My Darlin Clementiiine.
Thou art lost and gone forever, dreadful soooorry Clementine.

How about

John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith
His name is my name too.
Whenever we go out
The people always shout
There goes John Jacob Jingleheimer Smith
Na Na Na Na Na Na Na

Continue ad nauseum...

The really fun part of this song is that one memorable spring break I met a guy named John Jacob in Panama City. Of course, I launched into the song. Who wouldn't? I don't think he was amused. The trip was only memorable because I was so delighted to be meeting someone actually named John Jacob. HA!

I thought it was about a chick stuck in an egg!

I also now have a billion stuck in my head, but the whole time I was pregnant I kept singing the scarecrows song from The Wizard of Oz. ...if I only had a brain....

Anyone remember that one?

Was it sung to the tune of "The Saints go marching in"?
For some reason that is sticking in my head...

I know a different version

Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
mutilated monkey meat
little dirty birdy's feet
great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
and I forgot my spoon
but I brought my strawwwww

I know DH's version is slightly different from both ours, too, I like his best.

Great big gobs of greasy grimy gopher guts
mutilated monkey meat
chopped up birdy feet
french fried eyeballs
swimmin' in a pool of blood
but I forgot my spoon
so I got a strawwwww

And no saint music involved at all.

You love meeeeee
We're a happy family!
With a great big hug
and a kiss from me to you,
Won't you say you love me, too?

The Barney Song has been stuck in my head since my oldest was little, and he is now 11 years old. I used to hear that song so much, that I would hear it in my sleep. Pretty soon my 1 year old is going to be starting it all over again. OH NOOOOO!!!!!

No, at least not the version I remember. I dont know if it really is a tune to another song, though. I figured lots of folks would have slightly different versions, sort of like "madder than a wet hen" as opposed to "madder than a setting hen".

That sounds like the song girls are made of sugar and spice and everything nice and boys are made of greasy grimy gopher guts, or is it just me?

We were singing the hole in the ground song long before Barney was a twinkle in his creator's eye. He stole it from us!

There's a Barney song my DD used to sing, involving bad things happening to Barney, but I don't think I can put them on a family friendly forum; too much violence. She hated Barney!
