My Jumbo Brown roos (4 weeks old today) learned to crow...yesterday. Now the Serama boys in the next pen have stepped it up and so have the little Quail boys. What a hoot to hear, CROW, squeaaaaak, CROW, squeaaaak~LOL
On a great note, so far it looks like out of the 23, I have 6 roos..and six pens, go figure
They have all been seperated over a week, 1 boy/3 girls in 5 pens and 1/2 in the last pen.
I've been using rabbit feeders (the pens are reclaimed hutches). The feeders are new and are lined to prevent the feed from falling through, but of course they rake it out into the trays and waste it. I tried slipping quart sized cage cups under the feeder bottoms today while I was cleaning and feeding and it just might work! They are still raking it out some, but it's falling in the cage cups. They're way too fat to get in the cage cup since part of it is under the feeder bottom. If this works, I'll get a pic
