Here you can buy a one year dog license (with proof of rabies vaccination) for $10, or a 3 year for $25. The first year we had Freya, I could only buy a 1 year. I can't recall why.

I'm an outlaw. I haven't registered any of my dogs since David and I moved into this house. I've had a total of 5 over the years.

Good morning Cafe. Coffee is ready.

It is a very comfortable 48 degrees out!!! Positively AWESOME! I love it!! I should make decent progress on my screened-in room today.

It is now still pretty dark out when I go to feed the flock in the morning. I have to start crowing to the little boys to get them started. So many voices in there. I very rarely hear any crowing during the day. I think the subordinates only feel safe sneaking them out when they are all roosted. I need to start advertising them to get them on their way to their new homes.

55 here this morning. It would have been lovely to have open windows overnight. But the farmer has spread manure on his fields that are about 1/4 mile away, and wow, does it smell outside.

Two of the neighbors have lots of guests. Sorry, guests... sometimes living way out in the country stinks... literally.

I had a stellar caterpillar round up today! I found FIVE!!!
Woo hoo!
Three new big ones.

Two small ones I already had.

This is one of the new small ones. The other is so dinky it is down in between the new growth leaf pair. It was the first one I found today and I have absolutely no idea what made me peel those leaves open to spot it. There were no signs on that milkweed that there was a caterpillar on it.

Good Morning,

Coffee is ready and mighty cold. It was so cold last night that my bones ache so badly....and the weather was windy yesterday too. I closed all windows except for the one at the kitchen sink. I can feel dust on my kitchen floor because of it.

Today will be rain or wind, that is all we got now, nothing else in between.

It is so funny DL training baby roosters to crow.

My Japanese bantam hen is so loud with her egg song, she wanted the world to know she did it!!!
