I have around 50 coturnixs that are 11 days old. My problem is they are in a shed & its hot. The temp here in Texas is 70 at night & mid 80's during the day.I leave the windows open & have a fan in the shed but its still real hot. Should I move the birds to their pen. Here's the pen. The pen has a wire bottom . Will they be OK on the wire. Yes, I'm a first time coturnix raiser.

80's during the day ain't nothin' compared to what it will be. I've been concerned because my chickens have been hot in these mid-80's. How are they going to feel when the temps are close to 100 with 80% humidity? They suffered a bit last year but I put a fan in their coop and have lots of shade and water for them. I don't know much about quail but I'd put them in there if it was me. Just my opinion - free and worth the price ;P

most of mine are almost 4 weeks old this time of the year when they go out but I have backed down the temp in the brooder a coupla *'s a week so they are almost at outdoor temp anyways my "lights for eggs are portable / movable and I have put a drop light on top of a cage/pen outside this time of the year but it is fairly warm here now

I'm very aware of the heat trust me. That building or shed there in is real hot its metal I have both windows open & a fan. Last summer my chickens survived the heat wave. My coop is built under a big tree which helped.I think your right I'm gonna move the Quail. That shed is like an oven. I ordered a window unit for the building. Its not here yet. Thanks for the free advice !!!LOL
