Hello. I have been researching & dreaming of my backyard farm adventure for years. First, I had to move to the country ... CHECK ... then I had to get the kids out of high school ... CHECK ... Last week we got our homemade coop in place

I am happier than a kid in a candy store! I love your community and have found a lot of good information on here. I also have a chihuahua, who doesn't know she's a dog, and a houserabbit who doesn't realize he's a bunny. A tad spoiled are they, the biddys will likely follow suit, and have already started stealing my heart with their antics. I can't wait to learn more from you fellow hen moms & dads.

Hello Sir, :welcome I am Robin and it is nice to meet you

Hi there! :frow
Welcome to BYC and thanks for joining our flock!

This video should help you find your way around, enjoy!

Welcome, welcome!! :frow Beautiful coop!! Beautiful birds! What breeds do you have there? Do they get to get out explore your yard?
And, just a heads up - no one on this site will ever discourage you from getting more chickens. Don't say I didn't warn you!! :)
Hi Orr! My Dad built the coop out of all recaptured materials. It's somewhat mobile, as we can pull it around the yard with our pickup. The girls can get out in the back to their run, I will let them roam the yard once they get more accustomed to us, however we only have 2 acres & are right on a main highway, so it will likely be supervised only. I have 3 RIR, 4 Buff Orp mixes & 1 black leghorn. The RIR are kinda bossy, but it may just be because they're larger at the moment. I'm hoping the Buffs get bigger than the RIRs & that will stop the bullying. What else, oh yeah... I may NEED discouragement from getting more girls, as the triangular yard behind our barn is quite enticing as a quite large permanent coop & yard I look forward to more.
