Ittie & Maude went in the chicken tractor for the first time today. It was quite something to catch them & put them in the tractor, but once they were out on the grass they seemed to enjoy it. They were soon clucking happyly & eating the fresh grass. I left them in the tractor for several hours, and just moved them back into their shady run. It is just a small tractor, but room enough for excursions for just the two now that the 4 roos are gone to new homes. Itty is a roo, but I'm keeping him so Maude will have a companion until I get some more girls. I'm don't know yet if Maude is a roo or a pullet. Her comb seems very red & good sized for a girl, but she hasn't crowded yet. If she is a pullet that will make one out of the six of a batch that was supposed to be all girls!
