This American Bresse rooster had a rough incubation (temp calibration was off and experienced both temps too high and too low for almost a week) and a complicated hatch due to his deformity. His pelvic cradle is splayed and tilted so his leg joints are misdirected, and it makes him waddle like a duck. He gets around fine even though it sounds like he's stomping everywhere he goes, and he courts the ladies just as well as his flawless brother does.
His ONE drawback is that he thought our 25+/- turkey hen was competition, so he squared off on her about once a week. He can't jump to spur her, and she parried his attacks easily- last time, she grabbed him by his comb and shook him like a rag doll. With extreme violence. Vengeful. When she let him go, she'd torn a chip of comb loose and he had a bit of bleeding. He's been much more well behaved with her since.
He's 6 months old and weighs a smidge over 9 pounds as of two weeks ago. His brother is about a pound heavier.
Brother has the caramel tips to his feathers.
