I've actually never integrated chickens into a flock until last night

So I had 7 Black Australorps, with 5 boys and 2 girls. I took the boys to auction (that was before I found out one of my other flocks has Marek's so no more auctions in the future 😩) and the two girls had been all by themselves...until last night. They were out free ranging and I let my evening flock out, which is one boy and 5 girls. Also roaming the yard were my two CCL boys.

The two BA girls decided to check out the evening flock's run and coop. Rather than getting them out of there, I figured they would get chased out when the others started wandering in.

So I went out later when it was getting close to dark, and I could not find them. I looked under the coop complex where most go to hide when they get chased and they were not there. I looked in the coop with the 6 above and lo and behold, they were both perched on the roosts with the other girls as if they belonged. No fighting.

Checked on them today and still no conflicts.

I hope it takes!

The cockerel of this flock has turned out to be a favorite. I was suspect of his abilities as he was "coming of age" but he has happily proved me wrong. He protects his girls and only once did he show aggression towards me a few weeks ago as he was learning how to be the "man". I showed him who was the real boss and ever since then him and I are straight.
