I decided to take the plunge and order something to "retro-fit" rather than build from scratch. Long story made short: I have two naughty, feather-picking girls I've separated from the rest of the flock by a wire partition in the back of the coop and they don't have much room OR access to going outside....so after much thought I decided a separate "coop-for-two" would be a good way to go while the rest of the girls grow back some feathers and these two (hopefully) break the habit!
A little pricier than I'd like maybe, but it WAS on sale (PLUS no tax and free shipping!), and it even has a removable partition, so they can each have their own "side" if they should start picking each other....plus, by the time I'd buy materials for something this size and the time I'd have to spend planning and building...ah well, it's on its way now...guess I'm just looking for reassurance!!!

I'm going to raise it up off the ground and won't be surprised if I'll have to reinforce it somehow, but we'll see. I'll attach a nice run for them and of course, "interior decorate" with roost and nest box, etc...oooooooo...I'm getting excited just thinking about it!!!!
