Whatever she is she is loved. We call her Blackie but we don't know what she is. My husband answered an add in the Market Bulleten that some old man put out a few years ago. She is strong and even with her wings clipped she still always managed to get out but she will let my husband catch while others run. Any help identifying her would be appreciated.

This is a new picture of Blackie.

Her legs are white/grey. I wonder why the picture isn't working?? Anyway, I would agree with you but doesn't her comb look much bigger?

ah yes that is her! She has the gold tint on her breast. I always thought she just had two very different parents that made her look the way she does.
Thank you!

Woot! I got it right

I suppose
Nice looking bird you have there by the way.
I had to guess australorpe first cause I have 2 of them, so I’m biased.
Probably best if a few more people take a look at her though.
I'm a bit limited on my experience with different breeds, but that sure looks like a strong candidate

DH says she has a green irredescence about her too. Like you see green when the light hits it a certain way. But everything else about her matches, the comb, the legs, the body shape.

Edited because of terrible typos

Australorps have that greenish tint too, in fact when the sun came out today I noticed my dominiques have it when the sun hits their dark spots just right, I think thats pretty common for any black chicken.
I dont know about the star's specificly though.
