I've been spared.....but I need expert opinion on Goshawks.

Please don't "terminate" the hawk. They are only doing what comes naturally. It is your responsibility to keep your ladies safe. Mine do great in a "mobile home" (aka tractor) with a rather large mobile run that I move every couple of days. I have had owls and red-tail hawks show interest, but none have really tried to break through the netting I have on the top of the run. Look at the ideas here on the coop design page. Best of luck to you and your chicks!

ChickenWisperer,

My post wasn't directed directly towards you but to those who advocate killing hawks and other birds of prey. I'm sorry I hurt your feelings.

There is a sticky at the top of the predators and pests area. It would be a good idea to read it and read some of the other threads about hawks.

Other advice would be to make your coop and run as predator proof as possible. Cover the run. If you free range be prepared to accept losses.
