I have been lurking on Backyard Chickens for a few months now and it's been such a valuable resource for us as we started raising our first flock. We currently have 7 chicks that are 6-7 weeks old. 2 Buff Orpingtons, 2 White Leghorns, a Cuckoo Maran and 2 Silkies (white and Blue). I finally decided to join since its clear I need an outlet for all of my chicken love. My friends and family think I'm a little crazy and maybe they're right. I just ordered 15 more. We only plan to keep 5 of them. It will be so hard to let some go. They are so sweet. I can't wait to see them grow up and start laying.
