I've done a terrible thing! [pic added]&UPDATED

I think I'm going to put cling film over it and put it back in the incubator.

My two main concerns are:

1) It will get too hot without the shell on and I cant adjust the temperature to suit as I have other eggs in there.

2) I cant turn it because the contents would spill.

I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to turn it because it really isn't going to have to do too much to get out of the egg.

And as far as the temp... all you can do is wait and see. It will still have a better chance than it would if you discarded it.

It is a great pic by the way!

Hope all goes well!

Keep us posted.

There are some miracle babies that make it.
In my opinion, never give up. Always give a chance. Always.

Oh, and my only concern: infection.
Keep everything sanitized. I'd keep the egg in a separate, tuperware container lined with toilet paper. I'd make sure everything put on or near the egg is sterile. And I'd make sure to wash my hands with antibiotic soap before so much as touching the egg, which I'd advise against doing to begin with.

The chicks heart carried on beating strongly so I wrapped it in clingfilm and put it in the incubator.. within an hour it was dead
