We got our first chick's last spring. What started out as 4 buff orpingtons turned into 6 buffs and 2 Plymouth barred rocks. We hatched a buff/barred cross last fall....which took us up to 9 chickens. We just purchased 3 easter Eggers and a light brahma! Ahhh....bitten by the chicken bug haha!
