I'VE GOT A SERAMA PIP!!!!!!

I went into the spare room where I have my incubator this morning to check on the 4 Serama eggs I have left and I heard peeping!!!! I raced over to the bator and one of the eggs had a nice sized pip in it!!!! There was a tiny little beak poking out and the chick was peeping away!! I am so excited!!!!

Unfortunately that was at 6:15 this morning and I am stuck at work until 6:00 tonight, then I have to finish my Christmas shopping before I can go home. How in the world am I going to get anything done today???? I just know this chick can't hatch without me hovering over the bator all day!!!

I definitely would have, but I have to have an operation soon and the recovery will already take more days that I have available, so here I am!! At least while I'm teaching my mind is occupied with that and not my eggs!!!LOL!! I'm going to call my daughter and have her check on them. That's the next best thing to being there myself!!

Hey, I say forget work and shopping,,,Serama way more important! I have a few in my bator right now too...I have a long ways to go with them but I have a few silkie eggs that are on day 18 today...Good luck,,,I'm waiting to here if the Serama made it out of the egg!!! Julie

OMG - I can't get ahold of my daughter!!!! GRRRRR!!!! I can't imagine what she could be doing that she can't hear the phone, besides the fact that I NEED TO KNOW WHAT'S GOING ON IN THAT BATOR!!!!!

Finally got my daughter on the phone. She checked the bator and there is still just one pip. I'm going to assume that the chick is just taking it's time and maybe resting a bit before it makes it's grand entrance. While I'm assuming that, I'm going to be going crazy because I can't get home to see for myself that the chick is ok, etc!!!!! Maybe I should just finish my Christmas shopping with gift certificates and race home to do my chick mom thing???!!!! I can't wait to get my hands on these little guys!!!
