Aw...I was hearing this complaint 20 years ago...and Martha Stewart is STILL in business.

Frankly, if I had thought of it first, I woulda done it myself. I wouldn't mind being as rich as Martha Stewart.

And honestly, I use a lot of her recipes and I like a lot of her suggestions and style. Some of them are really good ways to save money, recycle, re-use. The gardening stuff is very useful.

The overly picky, fussy stuff, I just ignore - and one of my friends just eats it up and loves it. Something for everyone.

I did find it amusing that the buff cochin hen on her show last spring kept glaring at her.

She just irks me: trendy chicken breeds, Friesian horses, eating imported European cheeses (tried watching a fondue episode of hers, had to turn it off after the third country she mentioned. Now for fondue cheese, I like to get ______ when I'm in Greece, ______ when I'm in Switzerland, ________ when I'm in Luxembourg ...)

In her defence... not that I like her or anything... but she does make it a good thing for people to have chickens, and the more people see people like her have them, will hopefully make it easier for us joe schmoe's to own them in our podunk towns. I can't wait for her special breed of chicken to show up, on the shelves, at K Mart. It clucks about nothing, endlessly, and lays an egg, to match your current decor, which will probably be different, tomorrow.​
