Something got my hens so I only had Jewel left. I wanted more, so we got three chicks, who are now 10 weeks old. At about 6 weeks old, we put them out of the garage and into a separate coop (the hospital/penitentiary). Now, Jewel is by herself and Red ,Jack and Daffy are in together. Is there any way to get them into one coop without closing it up for days? I almost trapped Jewel in with the babies last night, she goes in to eat the babyfood, but I didn't want to stress my only layer. Any thoughts? May just have to build a third coop......

Building a new coop is one way to do it, new neutral ground to everybody, expensive though. If Jewel has been roaming around them and eating their food, she has already come to some accommodation with the chicks. You could just force the issue and put them all in one coop. When I have to move the new years pullets to the coop they have already been ranging with the older ones for a while, going in and out of each coop. I keep hoping that the young ones will voluntarily move in the the big coop, but no I have to move them, myself, at night.
