I've made her an apron, what about the feathers on her neck?

Cloud, Milo's favorite hen has been getting rooster damage lately on the back of her head/neck, and on her back. I've made her an apron that I can put on her tomorrow, but what do I do about where he grabs on her head?

Could you try something that tastes bad, like Blu Kote? I've used it on the neck of a hen before, and it seemed to help. And it makes her feathers such a pretty purple color....
