My silkies do like to go broody, but decided to sit through the winter when there was nothing to hatch! It's so frustrating isn't it! I'm realistically down to one very elderly bantam who might sit, she did a brilliant job last September, but I'm worried she might get ill and die on me before I can replace her. My only other two are the leghorns she just hatched, so I'm not pinning my hopes on them - I need to get myself some suitably broody breeds soon, or else I'll be hunting for an incubator!
My Brahma hens occasionally go broody, they’re great mothers. I have a random welsummer that likes to go broody, but I don’t trust her with eggs at all (welsummers often abandon their young, it’s really rare to get one that goes broody).
Maybe my marans pullets themselves will give it a go.

Officially it's to make it easier to work out whose chicks are whose (I already have Barred Plymouth Rocks) but it's really just a made-up excuse to stop getting more chickens.
I've asked if they're interested for themselves - might PM you an enquiry if they say yes...
