Y'all do you, I'll keep doing me. No one ever changes their minds from doing battle in a covid thread. I'm literally on day 4 of covid and it's miserable. I have a couple of comorbidities- diabetes (diet and exercise controlled), fat (doc says 40 lbs overweight but I think she's insane. I'm a muscular 6' 215lbs but she says I should be 158-173) and I'm in my mid fifties. This has been like a miserable flu so far; the sore throat is the worst.

If I had the ability to go back and take the shot two months ago and "possibly" avoid what I'm dealing with now, would I? No. And nothing anyone says would change my mind. I have 2 friends who have developed Bells Palsy within two days of the shot, another whose wife had a minor stroke on the way home from getting the shot. She crashed her car and they dismissed what she said and assumed the stroke was due to the crash.

When I get through this- and I will because, even with my comorbidities, I have a 99.9 chance at full recovery- I will have a natural immunity that is far more effective than anything the drug companies can put together. The only ones who dispute that are the drug companies.

I don't distrust pharma for making money on their drugs. Remember, this vaccine was supposed to stop the disease and allow us to get on with normal living but it's done anything but. I do have an issue with a vaccine that doesn't prevent the patient from contracting the virus, doesn't prevent the patient from spreading the virus and doesn't prevent the patient from being symptomatic, sometimes seriously so.

You don’t understand the science behind what vaccines are, what they do, or how they prevent or ameliorate disease. The reason we are in this predicament is the fact that so many ppl refused a vaccine in the first place that it allowed the virus time to mutate into a half dozen variants that the original vaccine wasn’t even designed for. Now ppl are saying exactly what you are, yet it’s false and belies a total ignorance of the situation. If ppl had all worn masks to begin with, had followed basic hygiene, had gotten vaccinated at the earliest opportunity instead of politicizing a health issue, we’d be done with this. But no…

FYI, the British Society for Immunology (so, NOT the drug companies), has determined that It's likely that for most people vaccination against COVID-19 will induce more effective and longer lasting immunity than that induced by natural infection with the virus.

I don't want to start anything here, but remember that the FDA approved thalidomide for nausea in pregnant women and we know how that turned out. There are a lot of dollars at stake here for big pharma. Make your own intelligent decision. This whole issue has become way too politicized and you don't know who to believe or what they say on different days. In our hospital, one of the nurses told me that the Covid cases were 32 until the day after the government extra checks stopped. Number of cases dropped down to 2! Britain has had studies show that the variants are not that bad and they are stopping all mandates...no more masking. Everything is to open up. Natural herd immunity is what they are counting on.

Well,actually, the only thing they ever said the covid vaccines could do is to:
1) help people avoid severe illness/ hospitalization for Covid
2) avoid dying from Covid

It's not a preventative. It's not a magical force field that keeps everyone 100% free of the virus. It was never touted to be.

Does ivermectin prevent people from spreading it, prevent people from being symptomatic, or "stop the disease and allow us to get on with normal living"? At least the vaccine shows our immune system what the virus looks like so our own natural defenses can do their job. With an entirely new virus, our immune systems don't know the particle is harmful, so that's why vaccines are necessary.
