Ivermectin use on dogs?

What happens when you apply topicals to them? What brands are you applying?
Well, I quit using them years ago and cannot remember specifics. :oldBut, shaking, foaming, and an allergic hive reaction on two of my dogs at separate times. One was a brand anyone can get from the store (which I have since read was a problem brand) and the other was actually a topical flea and tick product from the vet. I used it once and had to wash my dog and then take them back to the vet for the allergic reaction. Both products affected different dogs, but not in the same way. So, I just swore them off. I use interceptor chewables for heartworm and bravecto for fleas and ticks now.

It is also good to talk to your vet about what flea & tick medications are effective in your area - localized drug resistance seems to be common.

Great advice.

I use bravecto from the vet. Love it. 3 months - no worries in regards to fleas and ticks. The topical products have made my dogs sick, so had to look at other options.

Last year for the first time in 52 years at this location my dogs experienced a massive flea infestation. I treated them with Bravecto, and within 12 hours they were flea free and remained clear all summer. So far this year - no fleas. :fl

I like bravecto. Just put a 3 month reminder on my phone because I am :old and forgetful! We live in a very tick infested area - no problems whatsoever.
