Ok, I have got to give my birds one or the other. Which do you recommend? I don't wanna wait 2 weeks to eat the eggs but is Wazine as effective?

Ivermectin= 2 week wait, gets many types of worms- not tapeworm
Eprinex= no wait, gets many types of worms- not tapeworm
Piperazine= 2 week wait, ONLY gets roundworms

It's confusing, but sometimes it also depends on what you can get locally.

Hey girlie, didn't wanna keep bugging you lol. Thanks for helping me so much!

Eprinex is an Avermectin, as is Ivermectin. Where do you get your information about waiting? The med is for cattle with a no milk/meat withdrawal time, which does not necessarily translate to eggs & layers.

I just used Eprinex on my chickens. Just to be safe, I am waiting 2 weeks.

Ivermectin is used to treat worms in humans so I don't see why there'd be a wait to eat eggs or chickens?

I do not wait to eat the eggs with Eprinex. To my way of thinking, I'd say the "no withdrawal" does translate to eggs since it's not an issue with milk and meat, however, whatever folks feel comfortable with is up to them.

I think Wazine is only good if you know for sure they have roundworms. Otherwise, I'd use a more broad spectrum wormer.
