Ivy on Trees

Thanks for all the advice...I think I'll probably go ahead and remove it.

BTW...Thanks for all the "Welcome Backs"...it's just impossible to stay away from this forum...

I'm in the same boat as you with the ivy. We've been pulling it since we moved to our place about a year ago.

Cut the stuff off of the trees closest to our house first. It weakens them and we've already had one go down.

The upside is the chickens love it when we're ivy pulling. Lots of yummy stuff underneath.

We're trying to clear about an acre. We figure it will take us five years to do it.

On the trees you can just clear a two foot ring at the base of the tree, the rest will just die.

Good luck, on the bright side, it's great exercise.
