Ja m' appelle Leah

I took two years of French in high school and was terrible at it, should have taken Spanish. Here is the one line that I remember after 25 years... and IMO, it is also THE most important sentence to learn while taking a French class, LOL!

Je ne sais pas.

No in Canada ...well in Ontario .well in Guelph ..you have the choice of enrolling your child in a all french school ...both public and Catholic ..or an immersion school ....many to choose from ..mostly french with some english ... our kids have gone to an immersion school for all their schooling even in highschool ...there dad is french Canadien ...
and then in the regular school system they'll throw a french class at you in grade 3 or 4 .....

When I first met my in laws 17 yrs ago who are very very french Canadien ....they did not know...that outside the province of Quebec there is ALOT of French communities across Canada and ALOT of french schools ....I call the Quebec news and newspaper the French Canadien Enquier because they dont tell the truth or they make up so much "merde" that people believe it ...They have certainly changed since they met me ...they have toured across Canada and the States speaking french along the way ....
bonne journee Salut !

Bonjour Leah! Je m'appelle Poulefrançaise. Je suis prof de français aussi. Nous commenceons nos classes le 11 septembre.

Bonne chance cette année!

Bonjour Leah! Je m'appelle Deborah! Continuer à nous dire que vous apprenez! C'est la bonne pracique (not sure about that... practice?) at tous l'apprécierons!

(that should be, "Continue to tell us what you learn! It is good practice and we will all enjoy it!)

I had several years of French but it was long ago (il y a longtemps). There are many words in English that come from the French, it is fun to find them.

I did it! WOOT I learned the pledge. Started the alphabet today and the fruit loop of a teacher made us march throughout the school singing Ah Bay Cee Dee Uh BLAH BLAH BLAH ALL THE LETTERS. Of course I had the join of being first in line. Poor me LOL. I do know it now tho!

Ehhhhhhh....

(That's the extent of my French. And my h.s. french teacher had me go to the state competition. I was a seat warmer, me thinks.)

Oh, wait! Here's some more..

"J'adore toi, mon petite pickle."

(Okay, I don't know pickle in French.)

My favorite:
"Comment allez-vous?"
"Eh, comme si, comme sa." (with accompanying hand flipping and scrunched snotty face.)
