Hi. We are Jack & Sara from the Sacramento Valley (CA).
We are new to chickens and BYC. We got our first set of chicks in May of 2021; 4 cornish cross and 4 egg layers [silver leghorn, Easter egger, speckled sussex and a molted java].
My wife and I are high school sweethearts and decided to get chickens to try it out and our interested in being more self sufficient and in learning more about homesteading. We enjoy our veggie garden and this was our natural progression.
My wife is a radiologic technologist and I am a civil engineer. We have two cats and my mother lives with us (and the occasional inlaw as necessary lol)
We finally decided to post (neither of us have social media and don't want to) because we have learned a lot from reading the BYC community's post and would love to be able to help others too (and learn).
