I miss all the excitement around our house. We have baby chicks about 3 weeks old in a cage in our dining room. This weekend on Saturday whilst I was out kayaking one of chicks made a break for it. She managed to squeeze through the bars and go out. Our cat was quite interested in this development. As the story was related to me Abbey the cat was sizing up the little Barred Rock when the impending drama was discovered by one of my boys. panic ensued, mother was called for, the cat was locked in a bedroom, and Marie the chicken was put back inside the cage. And all was right with the world again.
Working on their chicken coop now, Hopefully it will be ready for them when they are ready to go outside.
