We have a thing 2!
From the bantam Cochin egg, this one has dark stripes, like those on a welsummer for example, pink legs, and light feathering. Not as much as the little black one though.

Here are the two with flash. You can better see the little one’s color. Keep in mind, her mother is either a red bantam Cochin, or a white one (which I doubt).

happy hatch day little ones! I guess I should have read till the end before posting

My bator came in I’m letting it run over night & making sure everything is in working order so o can set the eggs tomorrow. I’ve opted to remove the auto turner so I can set 15 instead of only 10-12. I’ve decided to add one of my remaining bantam’s eggs while we’re still within the fertile window because I want one of her + my passed roo’s chicks too.

16 eggs set I opted to leave the auto turner out so I could fit all of our lost ones’ eggs + 2 of our remaining bantam’s. I’m praying at least one of hers hatches, I’ve been looking forward to having one of hers + our rooster we lost offspring for months. Praying we get at least 1. I’m attaching photos of them so y’all can see why I want one of their chicks so bad.

Edit to add- he is the rooster for all of them. The others are 2- Dominique bantam & the rest Sapphire Gems. All were 6-8 months old, have y’all had any luck hatching pullet eggs?

Just about a week out from hatch here. I was able to confirm that the questionable eggs from the first candling had quit (only a few, thankfully) and pulled them. Dark eggs are a pain to candle.

3 days to lockdown!
