Looking good! Did #3 have the same kind of veining? It's hard to tell from the photo...the B&W contrast is very helpful. 👍

I took photos of the BCM eggs I candled a few days ago and there's hardly any contrast. Might have to try a B&W filter!
Yes it does I just liked being able to see the eye without a filter. I find the black & white adds a good amount of contrast. I can see things I can’t see with the naked eye

Day 10 candling revealed 4 early quitters.
Interestingly 3 of the eggs were from the same hen.
I added 6 eggs on day 5 to fill the empty incubator spaces, these all look good so far. Now have 17 eggs in all. Majority due on the 26th, rest just under the January wire on the 31st.😊

Day 10 looking good:

Early quitter, all 4 looked like this:

The 3 we were keeping an eye on had lots of movement tonight. Now I have another I’m gonna have to watch

I ordered some black copper maran eggs today. How do you all candle them, or do you?
I candle Marans eggs from both sides, using a Magicfly candler on the large end, and an Iphone flashlight on the other end. Works pretty well, but does require an extra set of hands.😊
