This is Janet one of our five African geese and she has gone broody. I gave her four khaki campbell duck eggs. She is on day four of incubation, and i will let you all know how this plays out!

I havent seen to many threads on geese hatching other species of poultry, so i thought i would start one. I'll keep you posted on her progress. She is doing real good so far!

Other than she's going to wonder how come they stayed so short she'll love them like her own, I had the opposite Muscovy duck hatched an Embden goose, it was so cute watching mother and child walk around together him being so much larger than her.

She´ll be thinking that she has to read up on niacin because they have leg abnormalities!!!

So exciting! Please keep us posted. I was just wondering in another thread if my goose could hatch indian runner eggs, if and when she goes broody. I guess I'm getting a "live" answer here.

I was worried she'd crush the eggs or the ducklings, but from what you're saying a broody goose will be more careful than geese in general.
