I just finished another hatch in my. 7 put of 8 hatched and are doing great. I never checked the temp at all this time.

I have the same problem. I set the incubator to 38.0 and the inside thermometer reads lower. Did you change the top temperature? Was your hatch successful even with this issue?

I just hatched 7 eggs with it set at 38.0 the entire time. I bought 3 different hydrometer! They all ranged with giving me Temps from 98-100° the entire three weeks. Interestingly enough I did notice that it changed depending on where I sat the hydrometer. I also changed the recalibrate setting to -0.5..So, in all I've no clue lol.... 2 years ago I had the recalibrate setting at +1.5 and the temperature at 37.5 the entire run... and all eggs hatched then too. The only difference back then was that my chick eggs hatched on Day 23 instead of Day 21 like they did this time! The Janoel 12 is a funny incubator.

My hatch was successful even with this issue. I just hoped the incubator temp was within 99-100 and eventually said heck with it and moved on to just stressing about the humidity !
