January Hatch Buddies?

My eggs are set in hatchings trays set inside the bator trays. At lockdown we transfer them out of the holding trays and they lays on their side. This helps them out sometimes. You may come up with a baby who can't seem to crawl 'up' out of the shell.Laying down they can wiggle out some and when they get some sort of "traction"it makes it easier to pull out.

Well I go into ;ockdown on the 19th.

That makes sense. I had an upside down chick in my last hatch.

I had to help it. Maybe if I'd taken 'em out of the carton that might not have happened.

Okay I usually only candle eggs twice, but these eggs I candle again. I'm glad I did cuz I had a stinker about to blow. I had on egg that had a black spot that was odd shaped. My guess was the egg was contaminated when I got it.

I have two little Buff Orpingtons in the brooder.... put some more eggs in the hatcher for the 20th.. still holding out hope for the others from this hatch..I think I have 7 more possible.
