I'm getting the
Brinsea mini advance. Probably will want the bigger one after I have a successful hatch (hoping my first one will be the successful one) but that's ok! I think hubby will be happier with me having the smaller one!
I read through that ENTIRE thread about humidity, a lot of it made sense to me. I live in a high humidity area too, so I will probably be going with the lower humidity level as well. BUT I am going to read the manufactor instructions carefully and make my mind up then. I have heard nothing but good things about these bators, that they are good for newbies like me! Hahaha! I eventually want to get some Wyandottes, but I definitely want to practice on these free eggs first!
I was joking with my husband the other day while I was baking something. I kept cracking the eggs (store bought!) and they looked fertilized!! I told him I was going to put some in the bator when I got it and see if they hatched!
So next wednesday is your date! How exciting! You must give updates!!! I still have babies in the brooder, and I am being a baby about them going outside! Hahaha! So these new babies that hatch (if any
) will have to be coordinated with the going outside of the others. The big babies will be 8 weeks on the 12th, so if I set the eggs on or a little after the 1st, I should have plenty of time to get the big babies outside and disinfect the brooder. My hubby is going to love having chickens in the house for 4 months straight!
