January Hatch Buddies?

Do I count since I chickened out on hatching my own? I am having a friend hatch them for me. I have 7 bantam Mille Fleur Cochin eggs in that are due to hatch Jan 6th.

I put in a mix of silkies and some turken eggs early this morning (around 2 am) 42 eggs total.

Happy Hatching everyone !!

s'okay, we're ALL scared--its my first time:D

I figured I would have a more experienced hatcher do the ones I purchased and incubate the ones from my hens. That way if I goof I am only out eating eggs.

Beautiful chicks Whiskey Bay! congrats on them

I am turning them and letting them settle in before putting them in the bator. I did have a question though.... I ordered the bator before the eggs and figured up everything to work out that I'd have the bator for a minimum of two days to a week before my eggs, but you can guess what happened... I have eggs and no bator....

It should be here tomorrow... if not it may be wednesday or so. The eggs have been in transit for five days counting today... How long can I store them before compromising my hatchability? In a way it doesn't matter... It is what it is and I can't rush USPS.. even though I did pay for expidited shipping...ugh. I am just wondering what to expect the wait to do to the fertility. Is there anything extra I can do to help protect them? I am turning them and keeping them around 50 degrees at the moment. They are in egg cartons with tissue, with the large end on top. Any suggestions? Also BTW they are not ameraucanas like I was told... some of the eggs are green or yellow... or even a couple blush pink ones, the majority are blue but I can see they are easter eggers. I'll try to post pics when I get the incubator here.

I have held eggs for 10 days before putting in the bator.I've had old tymer gamers tell me they've held eggs for 2-3 weeks and had a good hatch rate with proper care.I've not been that brave though.10 days for me with turning everyday. My eggs are set room temp. The only ones I didn't have hatch out of my last setting was some first eggs of some young birds. I figured they were too young, but you can hope can't ya?...
