Hi all
Im new to byc and also new to incubating.
Now my quails were due yesterday/today and still no sign 6 out of 7 have been wiggling .
Temperature is at 98; 4 at the moment as its a cool enough morning but goes up to 100 by lunchtime.
Humidity is 69 %
Im going mad because im dying to see them
Im hoping they make it alive and dont pass on me

I haven't been opening since lock down

Anyone with some info
Id be delighted to hear from you
Thanks
Louise:D

As long as the humidity is high enough (sounds like it) then they should manage, they sometimes take a while from first wiggle. This is coming from experience with buttons (chinese painted) but I'm pretty sure it applies to all hatches. Watch for pipping, that's a better indicator.

Patience, patience, patience! Welcome to the quail forum in BYC!
Sometimes, chicks just take their time. Also, since you're new to hatching, here is a pointer: When your chicks first start hatching, refrain from opening the incubator. This will help retain the humidity they need keep them from being shrink-wraped. You can keep them in the incubator for 24 - 30 hours before they will need to drink water and eat food.
Good Luck!!!

Still waiting on them to hatch . But cracks are forming . There wriggling . Can hear cherping and tapping . Oh its a real waiting game lol

Hey, I saw you in the "introduction section" a few days ago. LOL

Again, welcome to BYC!

Keep the camera handy...we just love quail babies! :)

I have taken loads of pics of my lil bumblebee s lol . Also I got a video clip of one of them hatching out .
From peep to zipping out of the shell 4 minutes in total . Couldn't believe that the chic got out that quick . It was brill thanks for the welcome xx

Quail chicks are the cutest thing in the world. When I hatched my tiny CPQ they really were the size of bumblebees. I just loved them, then they go through that ugly fledgling phase where they look like little dinosaurs XD
