Jaw Abscess on Rabbit

I noticed a small gumball sized bump on my bunny’s lower jaw in May. Took him to the vet, they said it was an abscess. Scheduled surgery - about a month and a half between noticing it and getting him into surgery (only exotic vet nearby and that first appt was a good month wait). They did a CT scan - look at the difference. Insane. Bottom is the normal side, top is the side with the abscess.

He didn’t act differently, never stopped eating - the bump did triple in size in that month and a half but yikes. And the hole in his face now…poor little man.

Wow, it having eaten through the bone is crazy. Very interesting photos, thanks for sharing! CT scans are always so interesting to see

That's surprising he never stopped eating nor didn't act differently. I would expect there to at least be some pain or discomfort particularly with its location in the jaw and it eating through bone.
