Hello everyone! I just found this site while searching for local hen owners. I'm in Jacksonville, FL and in my zoning it is illegal to own ANY livestock. I've signed the petition to change it and also posted the link on my Facebook page. In addition to it being illegal, I also have 3 dogs that would kill any hens I might try to own. What I'm praying to find is someone who does have spare eggs to sell/trade in my area. I'm trying to pinch pennies where I can (and who isn't...lol). If like to buy from somewhere that's local and from a person who raises their hens with love and free range. As natural as possible. I'm willing to trade as well in exchange for eggs! I grow several herbs, peppers, yellow crooked neck squash & I'm trying a few new things this year too. I also have a massive white grapefruit tree that produces the sweetest grapefruits you ever tasted! My oranges are even better but the tree isn't as big. I even get 2 crops per year!
