JC's flock begins

We got our first egg today!
A couple of our hens have started singing, we started hearing them on Christmas eve. We struggled a bit with the wet and muddy run, but we're recommend horse stall pellets, and they worked.

One week and a day, we now have 7 eggs, we think it may be 3 different girls laying, definitely at least 2 different girls. Light inside the house is bad, but we have 6 olive/green eggs and today was our first blue!

Day 9 from the start of laying and this morning we had 2 eggs! Come spring/summer everyone should be laying and I might not be as excited (22 hens that should lay 250-300+ per year) lol.
But for now, we have 10 eggs in just over a week and I'm so happy!

We've been getting eggs now for almost 20 days and today we got 4. 2 blue, one olive and one brown.
We upgraded the watering system because the 1 gallon chicken waterers kept getting knocked over and dumped out. They now have 2 18 gallon totes with 4 water cups on each placed on each side of the run. They seem to be enjoying jumping on top of them. The cups work by gravity, when empty the valve opens and as the water pushes the cup down it shuts off the valve.

Update. We now get 15-20 eggs a day. We have so many eggs!
We decided to incubate some of our own eggs. We took 6 from our light brahmas and 6 from our cream legbars. The roo is a cream legbar. Today is lock down day and we have 2 pips, one of each. After week 1, only one egg had no development.
