Jealous Chicken?

That's what I'm afraid of, lol. Since they're my first chicks, I am loving how sweet they are right now. I know it's normal and healthy chicken behavior to become more independent and aloof once they go to the coop, but I think I'll miss them, lol.
Well our BO’s are still friendly and comfortable around us, they just don’t want to be picked up but once we do their calm. Of course each chicken is different and we just spend a lot of time with them. I would suspect that something similar will happen with you. Wish you the best.

Thank You for the reply. I guess I’m in the middle of a monogamous relationship with my one hen. She actually gave me the cold shoulder the other day after seeing me interact with one of the new peeps.:D
Hey no problem at all! You summed it up Exactly! I have seen this behavior over and over again! Sometimes the cold shoulder lasts for quite a while! I have that going on with one of our birds right now. Introduced four new pullets a couple of weeks ago. One of my regular lap chickens has given me the cold shoulder ever since! Crazy birds lol😃

Thanks so much! These babies will be out of the brooder soon, then everything will be cleaned and sanitized and ready for the next batch, as I'm getting 6 more chicks at the end of September. BBS Orpingtons plus 2 free chicks. So more chick love in my future, lol. Enjoy your hen cuddles!
