Just bought the 1588 on Strombergs. It was a few dollars cheaper. They also sell eggs, which I haven't ordered yet. I'll wait to get the eggs so that the incubator is up and running when they arrive. Strombergs sells the Royal Purples (my favorite) for $20.00 for 6 eggs, with a 12 egg minimum. I have no idea if that's a good price or not, but I DO want Royal Purples, so it may be worth it for the assurance of the guineas I want.
Thank you so much for your help. I do feel less anxious about it knowing the incubator is good for beginners. Somehow it seemed like rocket science when I read about it, but I'm going to just jump in, be vigilant, do my best and hope for healthy keets. When they hatch, I know what to do to brood them up, so that doesn't worry me at all. And I'll research, research, research.
I took day old chickens and they're now happily in the yard, chasing bugs, scratching and rolling in the dirt. Guineas can't be any harder. I already know one person who wants more guineas, and I can place an ad in the Georgia Market Bulletin to sell the rest. And, of course, keep a few for myself. What can go wrong, right?
.
Thanks again.
