A few weeks ago I added 3 bantam hens to my flock. One has been consistently laying small (normal bantam sized) eggs in a light peach color- I believe she is an OEGB. My other two bantams are a silkie cross and a d'uccle mix (we think) and I have not seen either lay yet. Today I found a jellybean sized green egg in the middle of the coop - not in a nest box. I didnt even realize what it was at first it was so TINY. I'm going to have to sift the bedding daily to find these buggers.

Questions:
1) Do bantams start out laying extremly small and get larger as they age like standard size chickens do?
2) Which bantam hen do you think laid the green egg?

Hen 1) Silkie mix

Hen 2) D'uccle mix?

3) Is it possible one of my EE's had an opps egg and produced one so small out of no where? - (I do have one EE that lays this color large egg, but they are always huge.)

Thanks in advance for your ideas/opinions and help!

Yes, mine 2 bantam hens laid smaller eggs when they 1st started laying that got bigger over time.

I'm guessing hen #2 maybe she has EE in her?
