Jenks Hatchery????

Has any of you good chicken lovers ever used Jenks Hatchery
in Tangent Oregon they are real close to my new/old home and I am thinking to use them next spring?

Though I've driven by Jenks Hatchery, I've never stopped in. I presumed they only sold industrial-type layers (leghorns). I don't know where I got that idea, though!

jenks are a good hatchery but when i stopped by this summer the said they would not be hatching again till fall or maybe later. no telling when they will be up and running again. lots of local "small time" hatchers in the area though.

It has been a while since this thread was started but I thought others might be searching for information on Jenks and I am glad to help.

Jenks has been a good hatchery for our farm so far. We ordered about 300 meat birds from them last year and found them to be nice folks and easy to work with. Our friends order meat birds and turkeys from them and have found them to be good too. I have always driven there and picked them up. This year I am going to get brown egg layers from them (Golden Nugget) and see how they do.

I would recommend them to anyone but especially if you are in the area and can pick the chicks up at the hatchery.

On a similar topic but just off the edge -- anyone in the Tangent area know what the Tangent City's actual guidelines are for number of chickens?
