Hello everyone, I'm so glad to be here!
For my birthday this year, I wanted chickens...so, we fixed up a neat little chicken coop and bought some chicks.
We've got 2 barred rocks, 4 easter Eggers and 1 buff orpington...they're still in the brooder right now, but they're growing fast!! We've also got 3 silkie eggs we'll be putting in the incubator today!!
I am super excited to become less dependent on the grocery store(that is 30 minutes away!!) Not only for the convenience of having eggs and meat, but for the health reasons as well...because who knows what they're putting into our food?!?! Also, these chickens will have a happy life
We're a homeschooling family that loves our guns, chickens and freedom!
We also have a dog, an indoor cat, an outside cat, a ball python, a bearded dragon, 4 adult quail and 3 quail chicks(that we incubated)...so, basically a small zoo!!
Every time I google a question about chickens Backyard Chickens is the first source that pops up, and I'm so excited to finally become a part of the community because I have SO MANY QUESTIONS!!
I'm looking forward to learning all the things!!
