About our turkey:
- 18 month old jenny
- Has diarrhea since about 1 month, but otherwise acting normally so far.
- Poo is generally very liquid; sometimes mustard brown (see attached), but never lemon or sulfur yellow.
- Grazes on the same land as chickens, every now and then.
- The county extension confirmed that there is HM in our soil.
- had bumblefoot surgery about 1 month ago. Was on 2 different antibiotics (Baytril, then Augmentin) for 2 weeks each, sequentially
What I've tried:
- worm medicine - Durvet type C in feed. On day 5.
- yogurt occasionally; started high doses of probiotics last night.
- started Corrid this morning
- gave more grit last night (she is on pea gravel to large to eat and packed dirt; maybe she doesn't have enough grit)
What is confusing:
- Other than diarrhea, so far she seems normal. She is still eating and drinking (drinking more than usual), and seems to have a normal activity level.
- Isn't it unlikey to be coccidiosis, since she is > 1 year old?
Any ideas as to what this is or how I can better help the poor bird?
Thank you!!!
